Waukegan, Illinois - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement  (ICE) initiates the first raids of 2016 on early Saturday morning in multiple Counties in Illinois, New York, Georgia, California and Florida detaining non-criminal undocumented immigrants, some seeking asylum, but denied including those who were ordered deported and others in the processing to seek legal status.
ICE agents went to unsuspecting local homes searching for Afro-Americans and other non-Hispanic suspects without legal warrants, but when Hispanic residents allow them to enter their home to confirm that no such person lives there, ICE gathers adults and children inside the home and checks for legal status including U.S. citizenship. ICE then detains adults and children found without legal staus in the U.S.
Know your rights, people should deny and not allow access to law enforcement or ICE to enter homes without state or federal warrants.

Update: U.S. ICE has extended their legal status check raids to include shopping malls and places where Hispanics shop or frequent in 7 states, since Jan. 2. The states where raids were reported are CA, FL, IL, GA, NY, VA and MD.
