Milwaukee, WI - The Mexican government has leased 8,275 square feet at 1443 N. Prospect Ave. for a new Mexican Consulate in Milwaukee, RFP Commercial Inc. has confirmed. The Consulate office space lease was signed last month, according to the RFP website. The projected opening date for the new Mexican Consulate in Milwaukee has not been announced yet by state or Mexican government officials, but is expected to open soon.
A Consulate of Mexico in Milwaukee will be the first to open in Wisconsin and is expected to help take some of the congestion from the Consulate in Chicago, which services are provided by appointment only and has a long backlog. Mexican nationals in the four state region (WI, IL, IN, MN) will no longer wait months to get visas and legal document services by using as an alternative the new Consulate of Mexico in Milwaukee once it opens for business.
The Consulate of Mexico in Chicago generates more than $7M a year in revenue from services rendered to Mexican nationals from Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois that include legal documents, visas, passports, Matricula Consular ID and additional services.
