Cleveland, OH - On Friday, a Cuyahoga grand jury indicted Ariel Castro, 52, for 329 felony counts for rape, kidnapping, including one count of murder in connection with the abduction of three women. The counts include 139 for rape and 177 counts for kidnapping Amanda Berry, 27, Michelle Knight, 31, and Georgina De Jesus, 23. Berry had been missing since 2003, De Jesus since 2004 and Knight since 2002.
Castro allegedly induced Knight to have five miscarriages, according to the victims.
On May 6, Berry managed to escape with a 6-year-old daughter that Castro fathered. Berry called for help while trying to get out from a locked door and neighbors heard her screams and they came to her aid. They managed to break part of the door open, so Berry and her daughter could escape from Castro's house.
The escape allowed police to find two other women in a home that Castro owned. He kepted the three women isolated for nearly 10 years.
Authorities are seeking additional charges against Castro.
