Janesville - On Wednesday, Omar Tavizon-Ramos, 21, was arrested after a tip led police to an apartment where he was hiding out. Ramos was taken into custody without incident, according to police.
Ramos will be held at the Rock County jail once he is cleared from a hospital check up and released.
Last Monday, Ramos had escaped from the University of Wisconsin Hospital in a wheelchair and boarded a metro bus. He ended up in Janesville. He apparently was allowed by hospital staff to go outside unsupervised and he managed to just strolled away in the wheelchair.
Ramos is accused of causing a fatal crash while driving intoxicated on April 24, killing Jeffery Bauer, 19, and Magaret Worden, 61, in Janesville. Bauer died at the scene and Worden later died on May 6, from her injuries.
Ramos is facing multiple charges for driving while license suspended causing death and bodily harm, homicide while driving intoxicated and driving while intoxicated, a first offense, according to police.
