Milwaukee - On Friday, Frank J. Brown, 26, was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one count of 1st-degree intentional homicide with a dangerous weapon in the shooting death of Luis E. Santiago, 31, and one count of attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide with a dangerous weapon for shooting Antonio Santiago, 28. Brown confessed to police that he had an altercation with three men inside La Piazza Restaurant, 1504 E. North Ave. on early Tuesday and then shot both brothers. The argument resulted over a dollar drink (beer).
The criminal complaint states, that police were able to recover surveillance video from a camera inside La Piazza, which shows Brown arguing with the Santiago's and another man. When questioned by police about what had happened, Brown referred to the video, "that's what happened." Indicating, Brown was aware of a surveillance camera inside La Piazza and might had recorded the shootings, which the complaint confirms that it did.
He admitted to taking a handgun into La Piazza and the next day, Brown disposed of the weapon in Lake Michigan.
Brown's apparent Facebook account shows him in the graduating Class of 2011 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Majoring in Accounting. He attended Rust College in 2007 and graduated from North Division High School in 2003.
Another suspect remains in custody and another man is sought in connection with Santiago's death.
If convicted, Brown is facing life in prison without parole.
