Porterfield, Miss Wisconsin USA 2011 Resigns After Bound For Trial Facing Charges Of Identity Theft

Miss Wisconsin USA pageant queen 2011 resigned on Friday.

Madison- On Friday, Shaletta T. Porterfield, 26, of Madison returned her crown after resigning as Miss Wisconsin USA. In June, Porterfield was scheduled to compete for the title of Miss USA in Las Vegas.
The criminal complaint filed last month states, Porterfield forged the signature names of three different business owners for financial gain. She worked for a marketing firm and businesses affected noticed the identity theft, which was reported to police in Dane County. Porterfield was charged on April 5, with three felony counts of identity theft of monetary grain and remained free on a signature bond.
On May 2, she pleaded not guilty and was bound for trial. Porterfield is expected by in court on July 8.
The first runner-up in Miss Wisconsin USA, Jordan Marie Morkin from Green Bay will replace her in the Miss USA pageant. The pageant is license by Miss Universe, LLP.
