Washington, D.C. - White House Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed Tuesday, Osama bin Laden was unarmed and never used women to shield himself as previously reported by the White House when he was killed by U.S. Navy Seals Unit 6 in Pakistan on Sunday. President Barack H. Obama, National Security advisors and several members of his cabinet watched limited transmissions of the White House of the U.S. Navy Seals raid and attack on Osama Bin Laden's compound in Pakistan.
Carney did not comment what led members of the Navy Seals to murder Bin Laden in cold blood or what type of resistance Bin Laden engaged in to be killed instead of taking him alive. Leon Panetta, CIA Director said, the U.S. Navy Seals were authorized to kill Bin Laden.
Bin Laden's body was disposed off at sea three hours after President Obama announced the killing of Bin Laden by Navy Seals.
Bin Laden's body was washed, wrapped in a white sheet and thrown overboard at sea, after a brief Islamic funeral. Photos or video of his death have not been released. Bin Laden's body was identified and DNA confirmed it was the Al-Qaeda leader.
At least 7 to 9 children and several women were in the compound when Bin Laden was killed. One of his son's was killed, a woman and three men believed to be couriers were also reported killed.
Pakistan government officials say, one of Bin Laden's younger daughters had witnessed a Navy Seal shoot her unarmed father. The children and women who survived the attack will be turned over to their countries of origin.
Navy Seals recovered five computers, 10 hard drives, 100 storage devices and documents from the compound before leaving with Bin Laden's body.
Bin Laden's three story compound had an 8 to 12 foot high walls around it and was in Abbottabad. The campound was just less than two miles from a Pakistan military training academy camp. Bin Laden had been hiding at the compound for more than 5 years.
The Pakistan government says, the U.S. raid in Abbottabad was unauthorized.
