Three Suspects Sought In Connection With The Murder Of Illinois Fox Lake Police Supervisor

Multiple police agencies from Illinois and Wisconsin are looking for at least three suspects connected to the murder of a Fox Lake Police Department supervisor.

Fox Lake, Illinois - On Tuesday, Fox Lake Police Lieutenant Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, 52, aka, "G.I. Joe" was fatally shot just before 8:00 a.m. while investigating a suspicious activity involving three suspects. Lt. Gliniewicz was found mortally wounded by another officer.
Multiple law agencies from Illinois and Wisconsin including the U.S. Marshals Service, FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are looking for three suspects, two White males and one Afro-American, according to the Fox Lake Police Department.
Lt. Gliniewicz was a 32-year police veteran, Army veteran and is survived by a wife and four children. Gliniewicz was planning to retire at the end of September.
