Racine, WI - On Friday, Keller McQuay, 14, of Racine was taken into custody around 6:00 p.m. by Racine police. McQuay has been charged with 1st-degree reckless homicide, possession of a short barrel shotgun and possession of a firearm by a felon. Bail for McQuay was set at $250K and is facing 60 years for the reckless homicide, 10 years for possession of a weapon by a felon and 6 years for possession of a shot barrel shotgun.
He is being detained at the Racine Juvenile Detention Center for further proceedings and is charged as an adult.

Police spotted McQuay in a vehicle near the area where Vista Jackson, 14, his girlfriend was fatally wounded. She was shot twice in the face with a shotgun on Thursday before 8:20 p.m. at her residence at the 1000 block of Albert Street.
Jackson was transported by Fight for Life to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee where she later died.
McQuay was wanted in connection with her death and was considered armed and dangerous. The motive for Jackson's murder has not been determined. Jackson's murder investigation is ongoing.
