Milwaukee, WI - On Saturday, Deborah Bryant born as Deborah D. Gaither, 52, aka, "Momma Dee" of Atlanta was booked on a misdemeanor charge in the Milwaukee County jail after she was taken into custody by Milwaukee police for fraud to restaurant keeper. Bryant was having a Birthday dinner with a group of 8 people including Shay "Buckee" Johnson at Elsa's on the Park Restaurant, 800 block of N. Jefferson Street on early Saturday and rang up a $500.00 food and drink bill. Apparently, Johnson and the other companions including two men after arguing who was going to pay the bill, they walked out and left Bryant to pay the bill, but she refused. Police were called and she was taken into custody and cited.
Bryant was booked at the Milwaukee County jail and was later released at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday after posting a $250 bond, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office. Bryant was facing more than $500 in fines and up to 60 days in jail, if found guilty.
Sergeant Timothy Gauerke, from the Milwaukee Chief of Police Office, stated, "Milwaukee Police responded to the downtown Milwaukee restaurant Elsa's on the Park, 833 N. Jefferson Street, about 1:10 a.m. on September 26 for a "Fraud on Innkeeper" complaint. An employee told officers a woman at the bar would not pay her bill. The woman, a 52-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, was subsequently arrested. The case was reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office on September 27 and criminal charges were not issued."
Bryant and Johnson are reality TV show stars for Love and Hip Hop Atlanta with Vh1.
On Monday, Bryant announced that her case in Milwaukee regarding fraud to a restaurant keeper was dismissed. She says, that she was invited to have dinner with a group of people, but that it wasn't a birthday celebration and that she had gone to use the bathroom and when she came back to the table, the group had ditched her and left her to cope with the whole bill. Police were called, she says she was willing to pay for her own bill and not the others who left. She was arrested as a misunderstanding, according to Bryant. She didn't release any information about who paid the rest of the bill.
On Instagram, Bryant (therealmommadee) posted a photo of her and her bestie, Shay Johnson, "Reality shows make us seem like we are invincible, like we don't have feelings or families. I'm eternally greatful to my fans for your support and belief in me! TODAY..the court system found me NOT GUILTY of the charges you've been reading all over the blogs. Matter of fact they dismissed the charges brought against me from Elses! It's sad that in today's society you can't enjoy yourself without the police being called.. This is not the 1St time a certain group of people have been targeted by this establishment.. but ok. I can only pray for them and wish them well. Im thankful because ive got the support of my fans, family and friends! I want to say a special Thank you to my friend Shay Johnson @Iamshayjohnson and her amazing famiy.. no matter what ppl think..she always holds me down!"
