Miami, Florida - On Sunday, Paulina Vega, 22, from Baranqilla, Colombia was crowned Miss Universe at the 63rd Annual Miss Universe pageant beating 88 contestants. Vega a business administration student defeated Nia Sánchez, 24, from Las Vegas who became the first runner-up representing the U.S.A. The second runner-up was Diana Harkusha from the Ukraine.
In 2013, Miss Universe was Gabriela Isler, 26, from Venezuela.
The Miss Universe pageant was billed as 2014 - 2015 because it was canceled last year and the 63rd Annual Miss Universe was suppose to have happened last year. But Miss Colombia was crowned on January 25, 2015 creating the confusion why Vega was being labeled Miss Universe 2014.
