Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) reported that they are expected to refer last Sunday's shooting incident at El Rey's Foodmart grocery store parking lot to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office. The shooting incident occurred 1320 W. Burnham St. around 11:35 a.m., when a 31-year-old security guard came out of the store and discharged several shots at a 22-year-old woman who he knows. The woman was armed and wielding a handgun above her head, but did not fired any shots. No one was reported injured.
Police are investigating the shooting incident as a domestic dispute and will be filing charges.
"The security guard alleges that the woman pointed a handgun at him before he fired shots. Both individuals were taken into custody and MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days," the MPD Source reported.
Surveillance camera video from the shooting confrontation between the security guard and woman was recovered by police.
