Milwaukee, WI - On Friday, the Milwaukee police department confirmed that Jamila Ali, 22, of Milwaukee is facing a charge for disorderly conduct in connection with last Sunday's El Rey Foodmart shooting incident in the parking lot. Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney Hanna Kolberg reviewed the case on October 7th. Hanna indicated that she would issue a felony charge against Ali for disorderly conduct while armed and that no charges would be filed against the 31-year-old security guard at El Rey Foodmart, according to Lieutenant Mark Stanmeyer from the Milwaukee Chief of Police Office.
Last Sunday's shooting incident occurred at 1320 W. Burnham St. around 11:35 a.m., when a 31-year-old security guard came out of the El Rey Foodmart store and discharged several shots at Ali who he knows. Ali was armed and wielding a handgun above her head, but did not fired any shots. No one was reported injured.
Police investigated the shooting incident as a domestic dispute, because it was apparent Ali knows the security guard.
"The security guard alleges that the woman pointed a handgun at him before he fired shots. Both individuals were taken into custody and MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days," the MPD Source reported earlier.
Surveillance camera video from the shooting confrontation between the security guard and Ali was recovered by police.
