Alfredo Rios, aka, "El Komander"
Several news reports that Rios was killed by a drug cartel at a private party in Culiacán, Sinaloa on early Thursday are false, according to El Komander Twitter account.

Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico - On Thursday, Alfredo Rios, aka, "El Komander" known for his singing and composing narcocorridos or drug lord ballads refuted all news reports of his murder today on his Twitter account. Rios says, don't believe all those false reports that I was murdered, the reports are completely false. Rios has received death threats, but doesn't shy away from continuing to sing narcoballads.
Several news reports were published indicating that Rios was killed along with three of his body guards around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday at a private party in Culiacán. A group of armed man in a truck crashed the private party and killed Rios and his body guards. Six people were injured and taken to a local hospital.
At least 129 rounds by several different calibers were fired at the party, according to news reports that are going viral.
Mexican authorities have not confirmed Rios homicide.
