Hanging Electric Cable Sparks Electrocution Killing 16 At Haiti's National Carnaval

Carnaval float was to high and people riding on upper level stood up striking live hanging electric cable.

Port-au-Prince, Haití - On Tuesday, at least 16 people were killed after a live electric cable was struck by one of the singers on top of a National Carnaval float. The float was sponsored by the Barikad Crew and fans including the musicians were riding on the top level of the float when one of the singers head struck a hanging love electric cable.
Some people were electrocuted and other were trampled to death in the panic. The death told could rise and more than 45 people were reported injured, according to government officials.
Haitian President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister Evans Paul have declared national days of mourning until Saturday.
