Angelus Oaks, California - On late Thursday, the San Bernardino Sheriff's Office confirmed that the burnt remains recovered from a burned Seven Oaks cabin are of Christopher Dorner, a former LA cop who fatally shot himself. Authorities heard one shot from inside the cabin moments when a blaze followed after tear gas canisters exploded inside the cabin. A charred body was later recovered from the cabin.
Since February 7, Dorner had been wanted for multiple homicides. Dorner had vowed to kill at least 50 other officers and their families. He was disgruntled for being unjustly fired from the LA police force.
Authorities had offered a $1M reward for information leading to his arrest.
Dorner was cornered at a Seven Oaks cabin where he shot two deputies. One San Bernardino County deputy died at a hospital and another remains in critical condition. He allegedly killed a total of four people, including an LA officer and a San Bernardino County Sheriff deputy.
