Gilchrist County Sheriff Sergeant Noel Ramirez And Deputy Taylor Lindsey Shot Dead While Inside Chinese Restaurant

Both Gilchrist County Sheriff Sergeant Ramirez and Deputy Taylor were fatally shot through a window at the Ace China restaurant by a lone suspect.

Trenton, Florida - On Thursday, both Gilchrist County Sheriff Sergeant Noel Ramirez, 29, and Deputy Taylor Lindsey, 25, were fatally shot through a window while they were inside the Ace China restaurant around 3:00 p.m. by a lone suspect identified as John Hubert Highnote, 59, of Bell, according to Bobby Schultz, the Gilchrist County Sheriff.
Highnote was found deceased with a self-inflicted wound, Sheriff Schultz reported. Schultz says, he considered it a hate crime.
Sergeant Ramirez leaves behind a wife and two young children. With over seven years' total law enforcement experience, Ramirez served at both the Williston Police Department and the Levy County Sheriff's Office before joining the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office in 2016.
Deputy Lindsey, 25, served for over three years with the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office, originally joining the Sheriff's Office in 2013.
