Mexico, D.F. - On Monday, the students at the UAM in Mexico began to circulate a petition asking for María del Carmen Aristegui Flores and her news staff to conduct radio programming at the UAM 94.1 FM Radio station from the university. The petitions are being circulating among students, teachers, administrators and workers, which will be turned in to the UAM University General Director Dr. Salvador Vega León by March 19.
Aristegui, a radio host/journalist was removed from MVS Radio after two of her staff members were fired for allegedly using the MVS corporate name to become an allied with several other news sources in creating Mexico Leaks.
Aristegui News reported today, that Adriana Buentello and Ame Motta were also fired from MVS. Buentello posted on her Facebook (FB) account that MVS Radio told them that they were being let go due to employee cut backs. Motta posted on her FB that they had openly supported Aristegui and believe they were fired because of their support for Aristegui.
Several days ago, several thousand people showed up at MVS Radio to protest Aristegui's removal and the firing of both Daniel Lizárraga and Irving Huerta. They were fired because they use the MVS corporate name to make an unauthorized agreement with Holland's Press Unlimited to be part of an eight member news source to be part of Mexico Leaks, an Internet web page that whistle-blowers could anonymously to submit documents exposing Mexican government corruption.
Critics have said that MVS Radio has received pressure from the PRI Party and President Enrique Peña Nieto's (PRI) administration to get rid of the Journalists involved in exposing the White House real estate property owned by Peña and his wife, and the PRI Party prostitution scandals that Aristegui Noticias exposed and reported.
Cuauhtémoc Gutiérrez de la Torre, the PRI Party leader in Mexico City was involved in a prostitution ring, he was later removed from the job. Women were solicited for employment at the PRI headquarters in Mexico City, but when they were interviewed, it turned out that they would be paid to engage in sex acts with De la Torre while at work.
