Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico - On Sunday, Mexican police in Hidalgo del Parral say that four suspects have been arrested and two handguns were recovered in the early Saturday shooting at La Hacienda nightclub where four people including narco ballad singer Alfredo Olivas, 21, was shot. Olivas was performing at the time of the shooting and was the intended target. One victim has died when a suspect shot at Olivas between 8 to11 times while he was on stage performing.
Olivas was hit seven times, but survived and posted a photo on his Facebook account from a Parral hospital telling his fans that he was alright.
The shooting was sparked over a jealous rage when Olivas made some friendly gestures and dedicated a song to a woman, then threw her his jacket while her boyfriend watched in jealousy. The boyfriend left the nightclub, but then came back in with four other armed men and Olivas was then shot at.
A cellphone video captured the shooting and shows Olivas falling with his accordion.
