Milwaukee, WI - On Tuesday, police reported that at least 17 people were taken into custody near the 2700 block of N. 23rd St. near N. Center St. in Milwaukee's Northside. Police say that Monday around 4:00 p.m. a concerned citizen called and reported about 50 people at a corner with weapons.
When police arrived, most of the people who gathered at the corner fled and police managed to arrest 17 people ranging from ages 14 to 21. Some of the suspects had large amounts of marijuana and ecstasy pills on them. Four of the suspects were carrying concealed weapons. Some of the weapons had been reported stolen.
Police later determined that a local Milwaukee video production company was making a street video, but the extras for the video that turned up were actual thugs, drug dealers/users and alleged criminals, according to police.
The suspects are facing charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Loitering – Drug Related Activity, police reported.
The cases were referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for review and pending charges.
