Milwaukee, WI - On Tuesday, a fire totaled Los Indios Place tavern and upper apartments at the 913 S. César E. Chávez Drive after it reignited this morning shortly after 8:30 a.m. The building caught fire on Monday night shortly before 11:00 p.m. in a three alarm fire, but it started up again this morning, according to Jeannette Díaz, staff personnel at MG Oficinas located next to Indios Place.
Last night, Milwaukee Fire Department crews responded to a three alarm fire. At least 19 people lost their apartments and the Red Cross is helping them out.
The adjacent buildings weren't damage, but people are not allowed to go back to adjacent buildings for the time being.
The apartment building and Indios Place was later razed by the City of Milwaukee and the S. Chávez Drive remained closed.
