Milwaukee, WI - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) has confirmed that Police Chief Michael Marzion who was demoted to captain on August 25 after making inappropriate online comments to a student had been fired on September 19. Marzion and a female student at UWM began communicating with each other in an online conversation and at one point Marzion requested the student to send him a nude photo.
The inappropriate (unprofessional) online conversation was leaked to the UWM administration, which initiated an internal investigation. The administrative investigation resulted in Marzion's termination for inappropriate behavior with a student.
Gregory Habeck, was named the interim Chief of Police at UWM after Marzion was demoted. Habeck was the assistant chief of police.
