West Allis, WI - On Thursday, Joshua F. Larson, 31, an off-duty Milwaukee firefighter was charged with two felony counts for homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicular and two felony counts for homicide by use of vehicular with PAC for the April deadly crash that claimed the lives of two people near the 6000 block of W. Pierce. If convicted on all felony counts, Larson is facing up to 25 years in prison for each count and $100,000 in fines for each count.
Larson remains out on bail on a signature bond and will have an initial hearing in court on June 1, according to Milwaukee County Circuit Court records.
Larson is suspected of intoxicated driving and causing a fatal three vehicle crash that claimed the lives of Uber driver Yoruba Sly-Lundasi, 64, and his passenger Wendell Kenneth Johnson, 38, of Chicago.
West Allis police suspected at the time that Larson was speeding and under the influence of alcohol when his pickup truck struck a Uber van driven by Sly-Lundasi. Larson's toxicology tests result showed that he had a .172 BAC in his blood, which is twice the legal limit of alcohol permiited when he was driving.
The criminal complaint states, that Larson and his girlfriend had been drinking and had been tailgating at Miller Park and was speeding more than 70 MPH when he used the breaks in an attempt to stop before striking the Uber van.
