31-year-old Robert Paul Vance Arrested In Florida For Vehicle And Motorcycle Road Rage Incident

A couple in a motorcycle were run over by a vehicle during a road rage incident.

Lutz, FL - On Monday, a cellphone video was posted on Facebook  (FB) by Abe Garcia who was driving along U.S. Highway 41 near County Line Road and the Hillsborough-Pasco County Line when he noticed some bikers yelling at a motorist. Garcia around 5:35 p.m. began to cellphone video record the scene when a driver in the vehicle accelerated and ran over a motorcycle with a couple on it. The biker, Joe Calderazzo, a Navy Veteran with a female rider was the lead of a group of bikers. Both were reported injured, Calderazzo suffered a broken leg injury and the female suffered road rash. Garcia's FB video went viral in social media.

According to Calderazzo's family member, the driver in the vehicle was zigzagging through traffic and motorcycles in a lane where the group of bikers were using. The bikers began to yell at the driver what the (explicit) are you doing? Calderazzo told the the vehicle driver to stop and get off the vehicle when the driver accelerated and ran over Calderazzo's Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The vehicle driver, Robert Paul Vance, 31, of Land O' Lakes, Florida was later located by a Florida State Patrol (FSP) officer at a nearby fire station trying to change a flat tire. Vance was taken into custody and is facing 3 felony charges for hit-and-run, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and driving without a license/repeat offender in Pasco County. Bond for Vance was set at $40,000.

Vance apparently ran another motorcycle rider of the road earlier, according to the FSP.

Calderazzo's son posted on Facebook, "I get a call while I'm in my interview, and my dad needs me to pick him up, he just got hit. Then tells me that this guy was zipping through the other bikers and when he got to the red light, my dad and his friends started to talk to him like "the **** you doing?" And he ran over my father (lead biker on the Harley) and ran into a customs and border patrol officer, then went to change his tire at a fire station, and was immediately arrested. But right now I'm waiting for him to get out of the shower so I can take him to the hospital to check out his leg."

Update: Robert Paul Vance has been charged with two counts of attempted murder.
