Milwaukee, WI - On Tuesday, Milwaukee police investigators continued their search for a hit-and-run driver involved in Saturday's death of motorcyclist Javier Ortiz, 27, in the Southside. Ortiz was heading eastbound at the 1900 block of W. Mitchell Street when a driver going southbound on S. Pearl Street crossed Mitchell blocking Ortiz' right of way around 4:42 p.m., according to police. Ortiz tried to slow down quickly to avoid a collision with a 1992-1997 tan Cadillac Seville and applied the brakes hard causing his 2008 Kawasaki ZX600P sports motorcycle to flip over throwing Ortiz into the rear right bumper of the Seville. Ortiz died due to multple injuries he sustained at the scene.
The driver of the tan Seville then sped southbound on Pearl St. according to video footage recovered by police near the deadly motorcycle crash.
