Milwaukee - Chad Brady, 49, an artist began painting the Menomonee Valley Passage mural since last Fall and on Tuesday was doing some more painting in the passage. Two other walls of the passage need to be finished and Brady says they will be done by next month. The entrance of the passage begins from S. 37 St., just about a block North of W. National Ave.
The mural is colorful and represents the Miller Park area, Potawatomi Casino, the Brewers, The Milwaukee Road, bridges, buildings, birds, deer, Native Americans, fish, the Menomonee River, trees, manufacturing and canoeing. In the North walls Brady said, a mural representing the Hispanic and Asian community will be painted.
The Menomonee Valley passage connects to the Hank Aaron Trail and to Miller Park.
Brady has been doing murals professionally for the last ten years.
The project is funded by the WIsconsin Department of Natural Resources, Menomonee Valley Partners, Inc. and Menomonee Valley sponsors, according to Brady.
