Xavier Sevilla, 17, Charged As An Adult With 8 Felony Counts For 1st-degree Reckless Injury And 2 Misdemeanors For The 2020 Mass Shooting At Mayfair Mall

Sevilla charged with 10 counts including 8 felonies for 1st-degree reckless injury and use of a dangerous weapon, if convicted on all counts, he is facing up to 201 years and 6 months in prison, according to court records.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Thursday, Xavier Sevilla, 17, was charged with 8 felony counts for 1st-degree reckless injury and use of a dangerous weapon and 2 misdemeanor counts for possession of dangerous weapon by a person under 18 and carrying a conceal weapon for the November 20, 2020 mass shooting at Mayfair Mall. Sevilla injured 8 victims (7 adults and 1 teen) during a mass shooting while inside Mayfair Mall after an altercation between two groups brokeout. Sevilla then fled the scene with the help of his family, according to court records.

If convicted Sevilla is facing up to 25 years in prison for each felony count and up to $100,000 in fines for each count. He is also facing up to 9 months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines for each misdemeanor count.

A cash bond of $150,000 was set for Sevilla. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing for July 22.

According to police, Sevilla fled the scene by calling a Uber, which took him to his family residence. Police arrested Sevilla a day after, while traveling in a vehicle with Illinois plates. A Glock 9mm handgun was recovered when the teen was taken into custody. The suspect also had a packed bag and was attempting to flee the state.
