John Edwards charged and facing six felony counts

Greensboro, North Carolina - On Friday, John Ewards, (D) former U.S. Senator and a two-time candidate for U.S. President has been charged in a federal indictment of using campaign funds to keep mistress and affair quite. The unseal indicted alleged Ewards spent about $925,000 to keep his mistress Reille Hunter and his son hidden from the public.
Edwards is charged with six counts, including making false statments, conspiracy and illegal campaign contributions, according to the indictment.
The indictment states, Edwards enagaged in a scheme to hide his extramarital affair during his bid for president in 2008 and exposure of the affair would have cost his campaign huge amounts of funds to control damage to the campaign.
An arrest warrant was issued for Edwards, but he turned himself in.
