Shots Fired Inside The Lobby Of Mitchell Court Apartments In The Southside Of Milwaukee, No Injuries Reported

Milwaukee police found several spent handgun casings inside the lobby of the Mitchell Court apartments.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Monday, January 12, 2026, Milwaukee police responded to shots fired at the 2600 block of W. National Ave. around 6:07 p.m. in the Southside of Milwaukee.

Police located several handgun spent casings inside the lobby hall in Mitchell Court, a multi-apartment building. According to the preliminary investigation, multiple people got into an argument in the lobby and shots were fired. The front side walk-in lobby window facing the entrance into the building was shattered.

So far, no injuries were reported by Milwaukee police. 

Police are reviewing indoor and outdoor video surveillance camera footage from the Mitchell Court apartments security system to identify the suspect(s) involved in the shooting.
