Food Service Workers At Mitchell International Airport Submit Union Recognition To SSP America

Multiple Milwaukee County supervisors support food service workers at Mitchell International Airport for joining union and seeking a $15 living wage per hour.

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, Milwaukee County Supervisors Sylvia Ortiz-Velez, Marina Dimitrijevic, Marcelia Nicholson, Jason Hass, Pastor Joe Ellwanger and others including Luz Sosa, the Community Organizer for Citizen Action of Wisconsin/Acción Ciudadana de WI joined Milwaukee Area Service & Hospitality Workers Organization food service workers from the Mitchell International Airport in submitting their request for the SSP America (SSPA) management to recognize their union authorization cards signed by a majority of their co-workers to recognize their union. They are also seeking a $15 an hour wage increase for food service workers at the airport. Supervisor Hass told the SSPA manager at the airport that a majority of Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors support the food service workers and their union.
SSAP is a subsidiary of the Compass Group, which owns Levy Restaurants, the contractor at the Bucks arena.
