Forth Worth, Texas - On Friday, Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson reported that Ethan Anthony Couch, 18, aka, "Affluenza" had been booked at the Tarrant County jail around 1:47 p.m. Couch was ordered moved from a juvenile detention center to the adult prisoner jail by a district juvenile court.
A Tarrant County juvenile judge will decide by February 19, if Couch's juvenile case will be transferred to adult court. Couch is expected to be incarcerated for the remaining of the probation term.
He was sentenced to only ten years probation as a juvenile for driving while intoxicated and causing a deadly crash several years ago. Couch was convicted for drunk driving and causing the death of four teens and serious injury to another who permanently paralyzed.
Couch was prohibited from consuming alcohol, but a video surfaced showing him at a party where there was alcohol consumption. Couch to avoid jail time for a violation of probation fled to Mexico with his mother, Tonya Couch, 48. They were both arrested in Puerto Vallarta in Mexico and deported to the U.S.
Tonya was deported first and Couch was later deported to Texas.
Tonya has been charged with a felony for hindering apprehension and if convicted, she is facing from 2 to 10 years in prison.
