Waukesha, WI - On Tuesday, Muskego Police Sergeant Chad Dornbach was arrested by Waukesha police at his home on South Porter Ave. for a domestic disturbance in the afternoon. Police received a call for a domestic disturbance around 4:31 p.m. from Dornbach's home. Dornbach allegedly was locked out of his home, attacked a woman and was intoxicated, according to the initial complaint.
A woman living in the home accused Sergeant Dornbach of domestic abuse and was taken into custody. Dornbach's wife is suffering from cancer.
Waukesha police are recommending charges and the case was sent to the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office for review.
Dornbach was placed in administrative leave pending the outcome of the case and the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department was asked to do an internal investigation of the Muskego Police Department and the incident, according to Muskego Police Chief Paul Gieszler. Gieszler will determine, if Dornbach violated any police department policies after the sheriff's department investigation concludes and results are made available to Gieszler.
Dornbach who is an evidence technician has been with the department for 12 years, was promoted as a detective and in 2007, he was promoted to sergeant.
