San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Mexico - On Tuesday, the Mexican Attorney General's Office (PGR) and the National Military Defense Secretary (Sedena) confirmed that 32 bodies were found today in clandestine graves within the municipality of San Fernando. The total of bodies found so far in more than four graves has raised the body count to 120 since last week.
Several of the bodies were identified as the remains of Gonzalo García Casanova from the state of Matamoros and Feliciano Tagal Ovalle, 44, of Guatemala. The rest of the bodies are considered to be Mexican passengers from several buses who were reported kidnapped between March 24 through the 29, according to military police.
Investigators confirmed that 16 suspects connected to los Zetas including two women have been taken into custody. Armando Morales Uscanga, one of the suspects confessed that he along with other suspects had participated in the mass murders.
Last year in August, 72 bodies were found in clandestine graves in San Fernando.
