Woman From The U.S. Arrested In Juarez By Mexican Military For Trying To Smuggle 3,500 Bullets

U.S. Citizen busted at the Juarez Mexican border for smuggling thousands of bullets.

Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico - On Wednesday, Gwendolyn Marrufo Sánchez from the U.S. was arrested in Juarez by military police for trying to smuggle 3,500 bullets into Mexico. Sánchez was travelling in a bus from El Paso, Texas to Juarez. The military at the Lerdo International Bridge check point noticed that some of the food items in cans Sánchez was transporting were too heavy, including her clothing.
When the military opened the cans of food and check Sánchez clothing, they found bullets of various caliber.
The Federal Attorney General's Office reported, Sánchez had confessed to Ministry police investigators that she was taking the bullets to several men in Juarez.
The military conficated, 50 boxes (1,000 bullets) of 7.62 Cal. amo for an AK-47 Russian model, 20 boxes (1,000 bullets) of 9mm, American made, 20 boxes (1,000 bullets) of .30 Cal., 5 boxes totalling 250 bullets of .380 Cal., and 250 Brazil made .38 Cal. bullets.
Sánchez was charged with smuggling amo exclusively used by the military into the country and violating federal explosive, amo and weapons law.
