St. Paul, Minnesota - On Sunday, MAGA Vance Luther Boelter, 57, a White suspect who was sought in connection with a double homicide case by police and feds in Minnesota has been taken into custody, according to the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office in the Twin Cities.
The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office social media (Facebook) post announcement of Boelter's arrest read, "The face of evil. After relentless and determined police work, the killer is now in custody. Thanks to the dedication of multiple agencies working together along with support from the community, justice is one step closer."
Boelter with his hands up surrendered to a SWAT tactical officer just before 9 p.m. in a field near his home in the City of Green Isle in Sibley County, Minnesota.
Boelter on early Saturday, June 14, 2025 fatally shot Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman (DFL) and her husband Mark at their Brooklyn Park home, and then critically shot both Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman (DFL) and his wife Yvette at their Champlin home. Both are expected to survive, according to police.
The multiple shootings are considered politically motivated, according to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D).
Boelter voted for Trump and is a known Trump MAGA supporter, according to his long time friend David Carlson who rented a room to Boelter at his Minneapolis home located in the 4800 block of Fremont Ave., both of them grew up in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota.
A $50,000 reward had been offered by the FBI for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
