Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday, Milwaukee police responded around 2:30a.m. to an overnight shooting at N. Holton and W. Center Streets that resulted in the death of DaQuan Ellis, 20, of Milwaukee. Ellis was in his vehicle when several suspects with handguns open fire and shot the victim.
A female witness confirmed that she saw two suspects run passed her after the shooting while each one was holding a handgun. She says, that the suspects told her "It wasn't us", but she believed the suspects had shot the victim.
Another person (samaritan) in the immediate area attempted to resuscitate Ellis while he was still in the vehicle. Ellis who was shot in the head was still alive and when police arrived, they attempted live saving measures. Ellis was taken to a local hospital by an ambulance where he later succumbed to his injuries. Family members identified Ellis and confirmed that he had passed away in Facebook posts.
Ellis is survived by three young children, a daughter and two sons.
