Mexican Fiesta official says, a suspect has been arrested in connection with a recent deadly threat on Snapchat targeting the festival and there is no credible threat.

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, Ruben Burgos, President of the Board for the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation, LLC who operates the three-day Mexican Fiesta 2019 at the Summerfest grounds confirmed that a lone suspect has been arrested by Milwaukee police for making a deadly threat targeting the three-day festival event. Burgos says that there is no credible threat and the three-day Fiesta will start on Friday, August 23, 2019 at noon and ends on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at midnight. A record attendance is expected this year.
Last year, at least 85,000 festivalgoers attended Fiesta.
Burgos released the following message, "We've received notice from the Milwaukee Police Department confirming that the individual responsible for posting a threat to the festival, has been detained.
At this time, the investigation will continue and there is no credible threat to Mexican Fiesta. We hope you can join us with peace of mind for this wonderful weekend event."
