Lough was the former Captain in charge of the Special Investigations Division before being assigned to the Southside of Milwaukee 2nd District Police Station.

Milwaukee, WI - Police Captain Paul Lough was recently assigned to the Milwaukee 2nd District Police Station replacing Captain Alexander Ramirez. Captain Ramirez was promoted to Inspector of Police on July 26, 2019. Also, Police Officer Jesus Gloria was promoted to Police Sergeant and was assigned to the 2nd Police District Station.
According to Captain Lough, he will be at the Crime and Safety meeting on Wednesday, August 21st, 2019 from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m at the Mitchell Street Public Library at the 900 block of W. Historic Mitchell Street in Milwaukee. The 2nd District Police Station will also have an Open House event for the local community on September 29, 2019 from 12:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. at the 200 block of W. Lincoln Ave. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided at the event. It will be a great event to attend and to meet your friendly neighborhood police officers, Captain Lough, police auxiliary officers and community partners.

The Milwaukee Police Department released the following information about Captain Lough. He was appointed to the Milwaukee Police Department in 2000 and started his career at District 3. From there, he went to the Gang Crimes-Intelligence Division in 2004, until he was promoted Detective in 2006. He was on the Robbery unit for a year and then spent 6 years on the Homicide Division. In 2013, he was promoted to Lieutenant and was assigned to Violent Crimes, until he went back to Homicide in 2016. During his tenure as a Detective and a Lieutenant, he was a negotiator and supervisor on the Crisis Negotiations Unit. In 2018, he partook in creating the Special Investigations Division and was promoted to Captain of SID. Prior to joining the MPD, he completed a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Master's Degree in Administration of Justice (Criminology) from Marquette University.
