Overall crime went down by 17% from 2018, according to Captain Lough. Lough was informed of a newly created Latino MAGA hate group brewing hate and promoting Nazi propaganda in the Latino community.

Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday, Milwaukee 2nd Police District Captain Paul Lough during his first Crime Analysis meeting with local residents at the Mitchell Street Public Library confirmed that over all crime in the district went down 17% from 2018. Captain Lough and Milwaukee Police Lieutenant Elizabeth Ibarra were also made aware of a newly created Latino MAGA fake Facebook (FB) page hispanicnewsnetworkUSA dot com that has been engaged in hate and promoting Nazi propaganda and targeted a Latino community member and others. Police appreciated the information about the newly created Latino MAGA hate group, especially when police have an ongoing investigation on a recent Snapchat threat to Mexican Fiesta 2019. The Latino MAGA hate group on FB has not been connected to the Fiesta threat.
Captain Lough says that $3,200 in fines were cited to prostitution solicitors, 13 homicides were reported this year, 11 homicides were cleared and 2 have actives leads.
There were 20 non-fatal shootings reported this year, down by 29 (-59%) from last year. A total of 21 robberies occurred from August 6 to August 19, 2019, 12 were armed robberies and 9 robberies without the use of a weapon.
There were 21 total burglaries reported from August 6 to August 19, 2019, 9 residential, 8 garages and 4 businesses. In the same time period, 21 stolen vehicles were reported, 5 taken with keys and 16 taken with no keys, according to Captain Lough.
Also no hate crimes have been reported in the 2nd Police District.
