Mexico, D.F. - On Tuesday, Carmen Aristegui announced that she had won a phase in a civil lawsuit that was filed against MVS Radio for unfairly terminating her contract (breach of contract) as a radio news host. Mexican federal Eight District Judge for administrative matters Fernando Silva García ruled that Aristegui was unfairly fired by MVS Radio and must get reinstated by the communications company. García's ruling clears the way for MVS and Aristegui to meet and resolve differences.
José Vargas one of the owners of MVS Commincations/Radio hasn't released any statement about the result of García's decision to indefinitely suspend their motion to keep Aristegui from returning to the company as a radio news host.
Aristegui was paid by MVS at least $1,200,000 pesos ($80,000 U.S.) per month by contract, the Financiero reported.
Aristegui has been reporting on alleged corruption committed by the President Enrique Peña Nieto narco-government.
