Christian Ariel Albouras Announced Candidacy For 20th Aldermanic District In Madison

Albouras announced bid to become an Alderman in Madison.

Madison, WI - On Thursday, Christian Ariel Albouras, 31, a Business Development Specialist announced his candidacy to run for alderman in the 20th Aldermanic District in the City of Madison. Albouras released the following statement on Facebook in his bid to become the next elected alderman in the 20th Aldermanic District, "I am running because I am committed to creating a district and city that looks to the future and provides opportunity for everyone," Albouras said. "If elected, from day one, I will work to build a broad consensus of community members who are eager to continue the progress that has been made and yet, are ready to do the hard work necessary to meet the challenges we will still face and advocate for the interests of our district residents." 

Albouras will focus on public safety and basic services, youth engagement, education and afterschool programming, and economic development, if elected to the Madison City Council. Albouras is a member of multiple community organizations and works in Business Development within the credit union industry. Albouras's bid for alderman has drawn support from the current Alderman Matt Phair from the 20th District, who is not seeking re-election after serving four terms. "I've known Christian to be a deeply committed, level-headed resident of our district," Phair said. "His knack of listening to all sides of an issue, while balancing it with strong principles, will serve the district and city extremely well."
In addition, other early supporters for Christian's candidacy for alderman, includes: City of Madison Mayor, Paul Soglin; Meadowood Neighborhood Association President, Terry Evanson; Madison Common Council Member, Shiva Bidar-Sielaff; Madison Metropolitan School Board Member, Gloria Reyes; Dane County Supervisor, Matt Veldran; Dane County Supervisor, Yogesh Chawla; Former Madison Metropolitan School Board Member, Juan Jose Lopez; Former Madison Metropolitan School Board Member, Bill Clingan; and former Madison Police Department Assistant Chief/Madison Metropolitan School District Safety Coordinator, Luis Yudice, according to Albouras's press release in social media.

Milwaukee, WI - El domingo, Ernesto Nava Solares, de 54 años, el "Pies Descalzos", el corredor guerrero Aztec descalzo terminó la Maratón de Milwaukee Lakefront (MLM) de 26.2 millas en 4:05:23 horas, lo que lo convirtió en el primer corredor Aztec descalzo en vestimenta tradicional para terminar la carrera anual en un pavimento mojado y un sendero de concreto debido a la lluvia durante la noche, incluida la llovizna por la mañana y en un clima nublado de 55 grados. Ningún otro corredor en la maratón de MLM corrió descalzo.

El año pasado, Nava Solares corrió descalzo en el MLM, pero usaba ropa deportiva para correr.

Nava Solares también es conocido como activista de la comunitadad Hispana y es un defensor de los derechos de inmigración, que incluye como un empresario de negocios quien fundó Los Pequeños Empresarios de Wisconsin.

Actualización: El 18 de noviembre del 2018, Ernesto Nava participó en la Ultra-maratón de Reto Sierra Gorda Querétaro en el municipio de Peña Miller, Querétaro, México. Nava corrió 28 millas en total, incluyendo 12 millas descalzo y el resto corrió con huaraches debido al terreno pedregoso y húmedo de las colinas. Milwaukee, WI - On Sunday, Ernesto Nava Solares, 54, el "Pies Descalzos", the barefooted Aztec Warrior runner finished the 26.2 mile Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon (MLM) at 4:05:23, making him the first barefooted Aztec Warrior runner in traditional dress to finish the annual race in a wet pavement and concrete trail due to overnight rain including drizzle in the morning and in a 55 degree cloudy weather condition. No other runner in the MLM marathon ran barefooted.

Last year, Nava Solares ran barefooted in the MLM, but wore sports running clothes. 

Nava Solares has ran in four marathons in Wisconsin and the longest was the Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC 24hours run in Nashotah, WI, which he ran 14 hours and 9 minutes barefooted for 57 miles.

Nava Solares in a video posted on Facebook while he is running says, that his mind plays tricks on him like wanting to go to sleep and ect. and runs without drinking water or eating any food, but endures running barefooted while he continues on his quest to finish the marathon.

Nava Solares is a native of San Mateo Otzacapitan, Mexico, Mexico, but resides in Milwaukee. Nava Solares is also known as a community activist and immigration rights advocate including a business entrepreneur who founded Los Pequeños Empresarios de Wisconsin (Small Business Owners of WI).

The winner of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon 2018 on Sunday was Kameron Burmeister with 2:45:21, according to the official MLM athlete tracking website.

Update: On November 18, 2018, Ernesto Nava participated in the  Reto Sierra Gorda Querétaro Ultra-marathon in the municipality of Peña Miller, Querétaro, Mexico. Nava ran 28 miles in total including 12 miles barefooted and the rest he ran with sandels due to the stony, dirt and wet hills terrain. Nava was the first runner to run barefooted for 12 miles in the marathon, according to Octavo Rodriguez Valencia, the marathon organizer. Herrera-Tonche, de 22 años, también conocido como "Junior", el bandido de los camiones de tacos en Milwaukee fue detenido el viernes, según la Oficina del Alguacil del Condado de Dane (DCSO). Herrera-Tonche fue fichado en la cárcel de DCSO y está esperando la transferencia de la custodia federal al Condado de Milwaukee.

Benito J. Herrera-Tonche, The Milwaukee Taco Truck Bandit Arrested

Herrera-Tonche has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of 5 taco trucks in the Southside of Milwaukee.

Milwaukee, WI - On Friday,  Benito J. Herrera-Tonche, 22, aka, "Junior", the Milwaukee taco truck bandit was taken into custody, according to the Dane County Sheriff's Office (DCSO). Herrera-Tonche was booked at the DCSO jail and is awaiting federal custody transfer to Milwaukee County. The U.S. Marshals Service, FBI and Milwaukee police wanted Herrera-Tonche, an alleged gang member in connection with the armed robbery of five Milwaukee Southside taco trucks on August 29. Herrera-Tonche is from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and was considered the main armed suspect that robbed multiple taco trucks with two other accomplices.

Herrera-Tonche is believed to have travelled to Milwaukee from Sun Prairie for the purpose to rob taco trucks, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. A warrant for multiple felonies including attempted armed robbery was issued for his arrest in Milwaukee County. Herrera-Tonche has several open cases and a warrant in Dane County for OWI, bail jumping, driving while revoked and driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration third offense, all misdemeanors offenses, according to court records.

Herrera-Tonche has a Joker tattoo on his right hand and a distinguishing birthmark in his left side of the face. He was considered armed and dangerous.

Faith based congregations including SOFIA, Gamaliel and immigration rights organizations plan to boycott on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to show economic empowerment of Latinos and allies advocating for immigration reform and to stop ICE's family separations.

Milwaukee, WI - On Sunday, during an emergency community meeting that was held after recent statewide ICE raids in 14 counties in Wisconsin that resulted in the arrests of 83 undocumented individuals out of a targeted list of 250, it was announced that multiple statewide congregations of faith including Gamaliel, a national organization with affiliates in numerous state are planning a Black Friday and Cyber Sunday boycott. Bernie Gonzalez, a community organizer from Stewards of Prophetic, Hopeful, Intentional Action (SOFIA) in Waukesha announced at the community meeting that his organization, which is faith based and part of WISDOM, a statewide organization of more than 130 member congregations and 9 affiliates including SOPHIA and the national Gamaliel are planning a national boycott in November on Black Friday and Cyber Monday of certain businesses, corporations and stores that don't support immigration reform and help support anti-immigrant laws.

A Milwaukee emergency meeting about recent immigration raids in Wisconsin, was hosted by Wisconsin State Representative JoCasta Zamarripa (D-Milw.) on Sunday. Members of the Latino community were invited to the meeting at the Asencion Lutheran Church, 1236 S. Layton Blvd. where leaders, immigration lawyers, ACLU, LULAC, public elected officials, Voces de la Frontera, Racine Interfaith Coalition, and other organizations provided information about resources available to the immigrant community in the state.
