March Seeking Justice For Emilio, Señor Elote Man

Milwaukee, WI - On Sunday, dozens of people gathered at the 1300 block of W. Forest Home Ave. in Milwaukee to remember and to celebrate the life of Señor Elote Man with a march seeking justice for Emilio Garza who was murdered in an arm robbery gone bad. Several suspects are being sought by police in connection with the August 28, 2020 homicide of Emilio.

Emilio whose birth name is Filigonio Ramirez Montes, 52, was beaten, kicked and fatally shot by several suspects during an armed robbery, which a video surveillance showed.

Those who attended the remembrance event, also marched South on S. 13th Street to W. Lincoln Ave. and then turned East to S. 11th Street and stopped at the 2100 block of S. 11th Street to pay their respects and to remembered the life of Emilio.

Ramirez Montes (Emilio) had been in the U.S. for nearly 29 years. He was a bass player for a local cumbia group. He was originally from Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Ramirez Montes was a popular street Elote (corn on the cob) vendor and worked all year round including in the Winter season selling elotes.

A relative of a potential witness told Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) on Sunday that his sister heard multiple gunshots and came down to see what was happening and managed to see several suspects rushing between two houses headed to Kosciusko County Park. The Witness described the two suspects as Puerto Rican, according to her brother.  Police have not confirmed, if the suspects were Hispanic.

The husband of the witness was in the alley waiting for her and when she walked to the alley shortly after the shooting, a White female police officer was driving up through the alley and she flagged the officer and told her that the two suspects walking to Kosciusko Park were the actual suspects of the shooting, but the officer told her that they weren't the ones that they were looking for. The brother said, if the female police officer would have acted, the two homicide suspects would have been immediately apprehended.

According to the Ramirez family, at least two houses had outdoor video surveillance cameras and one recorded the suspects attacking Ramirez Montes in front of the house and one of the suspects fatally shot him.

Also next week Sunday, September 6, 2020, a fundraiser will be held at the VIP Lounge, 828 S. 1st Street in Milwaukee starting at 12:00p.m. to 6:00p.m.

Homicide suspects described by Milwaukee police: 

Suspect 1 appears to be a male, with a light skin complexion and a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a white shirt wrapped around his head, a light colored T-shirt with wording and designs on the front, light colored pants, light colored shoes and armed with a black handgun. 

Suspect 2 appears to be a male with a medium skin complexion and medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with light colored stitching on the head, the draw strings and in the middle of the chest. He was wearing dark pants with dark shoes with light colored laces.
