The U.S. Department of Justice says that Guzmán Loera is charged with 6 different federal indictments throughout the U.S. Guzmán Loera will be booked and processed at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, a federal prison in Manhattan, New York.
According to the Mexican federal Assistant Attorney General Alberto Elías Beltran, Guzmán Loera after completing his sentence, once convicted in the U.S., he will be deported back to Mexico where Guzmán Loera has 10 federal cases pending against him for money laundering, organized crime and drug trafficking. Beltran confirmed that Guzmán Loera was turned over to U.S. federal authorities around 3:25 p.m. at the International Airport in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, MX and immediately flown to the U.S.
Guzmán Loera was taken into custody in the city of Los Mochis in the state of Sinaloa in January 2016 by Mexican military police.
