Milwaukee, WI - Local groups have began a petition for Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors not to allow Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. to handle security for an upcoming Trump event in Milwaukee because he went on FOX News and told the host that he didn't encouraged, but when it becomes "inevitable" for Trump rally participants to "Hit first and Hit hard" when hate speech protesters disrupt Trump events. Sheriff Clarke called the protesters anarchists composed of conglomeration of misfits, criminals, union supporters, university students, well intentional people who are used and indicated that it was a totalitarian movement to shut down free speech. "I'm not encouraging them to start the fight, but I'm one of those that comes from the school, if the fight is inevitable, hit first and hit hard," Sheriff Clarke stated. In most Trump rallies, hate speech protesters have been first assaulted by Trump supporters.
In a disservice to the viewing public, Sheriff Clarke during the FOX News, FOX & Friends, March 19, 2016 interview, he actually failed to inform the viewers that anyone involved in an altercation, especially in a political rally can be arrested and charged for assault and disorderly conduct as well.
Trump rallies are paid by the Trump political campaign and are considered private events that promote hate, violence and racism towards minorities including Mexicans, Afro-Americans and Muslims whether they have legal status or not. Tickets to attend Trump events are given out to anyone requesting one.
To many, Trump's rally hate speech is not free speech and Trump has been labeled the neo-Hitler in America, which White supremacy groups have come to endorse and support for his blatant hate and racial rhetoric towards minorities.
In a news release by Voces de la Frontera, a workers and immigrant rights organization in Milwaukee says that, Following Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke's incendiary comments targeting Trump protesters, Voces de la Frontera and Coalition for Justice began to circulate a petition to keep Clarke from providing security at Milwaukee-area Trump events.
"Sheriff Clarke's violent rhetoric endangers public safety, and his comments targeting immigrant rights and Black Lives Matter supporters completely disqualify him from having anything to do with protecting the public at Trump events," said Christine Neumann-Ortiz, Executive Director of Voces de la Frontera. "Clarke is inciting the racist violence that has shocked the country at Trump's rallies. We urge local authorities in the areas where Trump holds events to ensure that Clarke and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office are not in charge of protecting public safety, given his incendiary comments. We call on local authorities to establish a plan to prevent racial profiling and violence at Trump events to protect the people's constitutional right to protest."
