Milwaukee, WI - On Friday, the United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) announced that the 35th Annual UMOS Hispanic Awards Banquet has been sold out. This year's award recipients are, Hispanic Woman of the Year award goes to Teresa Mercado, the Executive Director for the annual three-day Mexican Fiesta sponsored by the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation; Hispanic Man of the Year award goes to Dr. Arturo Martínez, the Associate Dean at the Milwaukee Area Technical College and Wisconsin State LULAC Director; the Hispanic Family of the Year award went to Frank and Nancy Gonzales; the Hispanic Youth of the Year went to Jesse Villarreal.
Both Martínez and Gonzales are avid Mexican Fiesta volunteers as well. The UMOS Awards event will take place on October 10th at the Italian Community Conference Center.
