31-year-old Hayley Amber Linville Died From Injuries After A 44-year-old Milwaukee Police Officer Ran Over Her With Police SUV At A Southside Alley

A 44-year-old Milwaukee police officer with 18 years in the department was placed under administrative leave after allegedly causing the death of a 31-year-old woman, after he ran over her with his police squad vehicle at a Southside alley.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Tuesday, a 44-year-old Milwaukee police officer with 18 years in the department was placed on administrative leave after running over Hayley Amber Linville, 31, in an alley with his department's police SUV, according to police.

The officer was responding to a dispatch call around 10:58 a.m. to a welfare check of an individual who was reported walking in and out of the street.

Police say, upon the officer arriving at the scene and checking the area, the officer struck Linville with his squad vehicle who was lying at the mouth (entrance) of an alley at the 1500 block of S. 20 St. in the Southside of Milwaukee.

Linville was then transported to Froedtert Hospital where she died from her injuries. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office pronounced Linville deceased at 11:47 a.m., and an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday to determine the cause of death. The preliminary manner of death was listed as an accident, according to the MCMEO.

According to initial emergency reports, Linville suffered head and leg trauma.

The Waukesha Police Department is the lead investigating agency in the alleged Milwaukee police vehicle involved death investigation case, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
