Ellis is sought by police in connection with Sunday's fatal shooting at the Fox River Mall in Wisconsin.

Grand Chute, WI - The Grand Chute police reported that Dezman V. Ellis, 17, is being sought in connection with a deadly shooting on Sunday around 3:30 p.m. at the Fox River Mall in Grand Chute that left one victim dead and another victim with a none-life-threatening injury, according to police. The murdered victim was identified as Jovanni Frausto, 19, the second shooting victim was not identified by police.
Police say that the two victims were shot in the main corridor of the mall on Sunday and that Ellis is being sought in connection with the mall shooting.
According to the police report, On Sunday, January 31st, 2021, at around 3:30 pm, officers from the Grand Chute Police Department along with numerous other agencies responded to the Fox River Mall, 4301 W. Wisconsin Avenue, in the Town of Grand Chute for a report of shots being fired inside the main mall corridor. Officers arrived on scene and conducted a preliminary search for threats inside the Fox River Mall. Officers located two victims who had been shot. One victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was treated and released. The second victim, identified as 19-year-old Jovanni J. Frausto, died as a result of the injuries. A thorough search of the mall was conducted to locate and safely escort those who had sheltered in place.
At this time, investigators are attempting to locate and speak with Dezman V. Ellis (06/10/2003) for his involvement in this incident. Investigators believe Dezman is riding in a blue, 2012 Dodge Avenger bearing Wisconsin license plate AHP7939. This event is believed to have been a targeted incident and Mr. Ellis is believed to be armed and dangerous.
The vehicle with the license plate AHP7939 was located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin by police on Monday after someone spotted it at a home at the 200 block of W. 20th Ave. and called police, but Ellis was not at the location. Ellis is still on the run and is presumed armed and dangerous.
Update: On Thursday, February 04, 2021 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Dezman V. Ellis was taken into custody without incident at a residence in Des Moines, Iowa, following an exhaustive, around the clock fugitive investigation by the U.S. Marshals Task Force, according to the Grand Chute Police Department.
