Milwaukee, WI - On Tuesday, the Milwaukee Common Council voted 10 yes - 1 no and 3 abstained to confirm Griselda Aldrete as the next Executive Director of the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission. Aldrete was appointed by Mayor Tom Barrett.

Aldrete is the first Latina to be confirmed as Executive Director for the Fire and Police Commission.

Wisconsin Sanctuary Proposed Bill Released And Bipartisan Legislative Co-sponsors Sought

A Sanctuary proposed bill by State Legislature Democrats was released, and it prohibits local county sheriffs and other law enforcement agencies in the state from collaborating and working with U.S. ICE.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Tuesday, State Senator Chris Larson (D), State Assembly Representative Jonathan Brostoff (D) and State Representative Marisabel Cabrera (D), the lead authors of the proposed Sanctuary Bill along with other groups and allies held a press conference at City Hall in Milwaukee to announce the proposed Sanctuary Bill, which would prohibit or limit any collaboration between local law enforcement agencies including county sheriffs and ICE, and a second bill would prohibit private prisons in Wisconsin. According to one of the co-authors of the newly proposed Sanctuary Bill, it would also prohibit the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which is the primary law enforcement agency and investigate arm for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department (WCSD) MOA with ICE expired in June 30 and the WCSD is in the process of renewing the MOA agreement. The 287g allows trained county sheriff deputies or county sheriff's corrections staff to act like immigration enforcement agents when processing inmates.

In the last seven months, Governor Tony Evers (D) hasn't addressed the issue with the 287g MOA in Waukesha County.

When contacted on Wednesday and asked if the Sanctuary Bill would prohibit 287g in the state, State Representative Brostoff stated, "...my understanding is that they would actually be covered by the language of the bill as written...By using broader categorical language it also covers and preempts other potential issues that go beyond 287g as well." The Sanctuary Bill also allows for the DOJ to provide a policy of limited authority for local law enforcement agencies under the bill.

Murphy, N. Carolina - On Thursday, Steve 'DOC' Wacholz, 56, of Murphy, N. Carolina posted a Facebook post announcing his racist and bigoted promotion of his Cherokee Guns Shop by posting a photo of a billboard on a highway insulting four U.S. Congresswomen of color in Facebook. Wacholz, who was a heavy metal drummer seems to portray himself today as a White nationalist and a MAGA Trump supporter. Walcholz in the billboard insulted the Congresswomen as idiots.

The Cherokee Gun Shop is located at 1936 U.S. Hwy 64 West in Murphy. Wacholz racist and bigoted promo has raised criticism from locals and a boycott is being called against his gun business.

Governor Of Puerto Rico Ricardo Rosselló Announced His Resignation Effective August 2, 2019

Rosselló was forced to resign after a corruption scandal broke.

San Juan, Puerto Rico -  On Wednesday, Ricardo Rosselló, the Governor of Puerto Rico announced his resignation effective August 2, 2019 after weeks of protests in the island. Rosselló faced millions of protesters in Puerto Rico and the U.S. who took to the streets in protest and calling for his resignation following a corruption scandal and leaked chat text messages between him and his top aides that contained homophobic and misogynistic slurs targeted at political rivals, women and Hurricane Maria survivors.

Feds also confiscated Rosselló's cellphone with warrant, which a federal investigation is underway in the corruption probe, according to federal authorities.

$2M Lawsuit Filed By Waukegan School District 60 Attorney Representing Superintendent Theresa A. Plascencia And School Board President Michael Rodriguez Against Margaret Carrasco Dismissed

The plaintiffs, Plascencia, Rodriguez and the attorney for Waukegan School District #60 failed to appear in court and the defamation lawsuit case filed on December 27, 2018 against Margaret Carrasco was dismissed by default.

Waukegan, Illinois - On Tuesday, a Lake County judge dismissed a $2M dollar defamation lawsuit case (# 18L 00000986) filed against Margaret Carrasco by an attorney representing Superintendent Theresa A. Plascencia, Waukegan School District 60 Board President Michael Rodriguez and district school attorney Tom Morris. In the lawsuit, the plaintiffs claimed that Carrasco engaged in a "...campaign of harassing Facebook posts..

" that included defaming, harassing and causing emotional stress for the plaintiffs and that Carrasco also accused the district school administration of corruption. Carrasco led a successful campaign to stop the school board from increasing property taxes and accused Plascencia in November 2018 of filing a false police report against her, which later turned out that Plascencia couldn't prove she was verbally harassed or threatened by Carrasco at a local Mexican restaurant in Waukegan. Restaurant video footage of the alleged incident between Plascencia and Carrasco failed to show that Carrasco ever confronted and harrassed Plascencia. Carrasco pushed for the Waukegan Police Department to file charges against Plascencia for filing a false police report, but police never filed charges. Plascencia also filed a restraining order in Lake County against Carrasco, but the restraining order was not granted.

The Waukegan School Board District 60 in June 2018 approved $30,000 to retain a law firm to represent the plaintiffs in the lawsuit. Carrasco says, the lawsuit was an attempt to silence her and from bringing up school issues at Board meetings. Carrasco represented herself in the lawsuit. 

Carrasco on Tuesday told Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) that she thanks everyone and is very grateful for the Waukegan community who supported her during this unfortunate act by Plascencia, district school administrators and the school Board in filing a frivolous lawsuit with taxpayers funds in an attempt to silence her from raising and addressing school issues affecting taxpayers.

Puerto Ricans In Milwaukee Will Hold A Solidarity Rally At Red Arrow Park To Coincide With Puerto Rico's Major Shutdown Of The Island On Monday

Most of Puerto Rico will face a major Island shutdown including a National March and closings of schools, businesses and etc. on Monday.

Milwaukee, WI - An impromptu Solidarity Rally with Puerto Rico (SRPR) is planned by local organizers who decided to join a major shutdown of businesses, schools and etc. on Monday in the Island, if Governor Ricardo Rosselló fails to resign from office at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. The SRPR will be held at the Milwaukee downtown Red Arrow Park, 920 N. Water Street starting at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, according to information circulating on Facebook.

Governor Rosselló announced that he resigned as president of the political party the Partido Nuevo Progressita (New Progressive Party) and confirmed that he won't run for re-election. But, thousands of protesters in Puerto Rico gave him an ultimatum to resign by Sunday before midnight or face major shutdowns in the island on Monday, so far Rosselló has not resigned.

Rosselló faced a major corruption scandal and conversations in a private chat between his confidants were leaked out showing him and others degrading his rivals and the Puerto Rican population for their low economic status due to several hurricane disasters that left the island devastated and slow FEMA aid for recovery under the Trump administration.

Update: On Monday, Hundreds gathered at Red Arrow Park in Milwaukee's downtown to call on Puerto Rico's Governor Ricardo Roselló to resign amid a corruption scandal.

City Orders La Luz Del Mundo Religious Group In Milwaukee To Remove Huge Banners From Buildings That Violate Size Banner Ordinance

Several banners displayed on several buildings owned by the religious group La Luz Del Mundo apparently violate City ordinance that limit the size of banners to 25 square feet.

Milwaukee. WI - Religious group ordered by City of Milwaukee Neighborhood Services to remove several huge banners for oversize violation, which depicts their leader Naasón Joaquín García. The banners with his face will remain until the end of July and will be replaced with smaller banners due to City ordinance violation for having prohibited huge banners that exceed the 25 foot limit in front of a building on S. Cesar E. Chavez Dr. The city ordered the church administrators to remove the huge banners or face fines from $150 up to $10K per day after the City inspected the banners on July 11. The City recently received complaints by neighborhood residents about the huge banners after its leader Garcia was charged with multiple child sex crimes,  human trafficking and child  pornography. 

A huge banner adorns La Luz del Mundo church at the 1300 block of S. Cesar E. Chavez Dr. and second banner is placed at another building facing the 1500 block of W. Greenfield Ave. 

According to the criminal complaint filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the California Department of Justice alleges Joaquín García and his co-defendants committed 26 felonies in Southern California over a period of approximately four years.
Earlier this week, Los Angeles County Magistrate David Fields denied bail for García, the leader of La Luz Del Mundo who previously had a $50M bail. Garcia is considered a flight risk and authorities found thousands of child pornography images in his cell phone, which investigators say that he is obsessed with child pornography. Garcia's accomplices: Alondra Ocampo bail was set at $25M, Susana Medina Oaxaca was set free after posting $150K bail and Azalea Rangel Melendez is still at large and is wanted on a felony warrant in California. The defendants are scheduled to return to a court hearing on August 2, 2019.
