30th Wrong Way Freeway Driver Arrested By Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriffs

Milwaukee, WI - On early Saturday, Joshua Klawikowski, 21, of Waukesha traveled more than 15 miles the wrong way on West I-94 before making a u-turn and stopping near the College Ave. exit. Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff's responded to a call that a driver was traveling the wrong way on I-94. 

When a deputy spotted Klawikowski going soutbound on northbound I-94 lanes, he attempted to block Klawikowski's passage with blazing red and blue lights, including a loud siren. But, Klawikowski slowed down and failed to stop almost crashing into the deputy. 

Other deputies were able to arrest Klawikowski after he made a u-turn near Rawson and then stopped for deputies near the College Ave. exit around 2:25 a.m.

Klawikowski is facing a felony charge for reckless driving endangering safety and operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI). His blood concentration tested .18, more than twice the legal limit.

Klawikowski is the 30th wrong way driver taken into custody on Milwaukee County highways this year.

Shortly after, another driver was arrested by a Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff near West I-94 on North 41 after crashing into a wall. The driver was cited for OWI.

14 Mexican Federal Police Officers Charged For Attempted Murder Of Two Americans And Mexican Naval Officer

A Mexican federal judge issued warrants for 14 members of the Federal Police involved in the August attempted homicide of two U.S. Embassy workers and a Mexican naval officer near Huitzilac, Morelos.

Mexico City, Mexico - On Friday, the federal Mexican Attorney General's Office announced that a federal judge has issued arrest warrants for 14 members of the Federal Police stationed at the Tlalpan district station. The Federal Police officers allegedly attempted to kill two U.S. Embassy workers (CIA) and a Mexican naval captain on August 24, 2012. 

The two Americans and a naval officer were driving along the Mexico-Cuernavaca federal highway near Huitzilac, Morelos when the attack occurred. They were headed to a naval campound when they were pursued by multiple vehicles with men firing at their U.S. diplomatic license plate armoured black Cruiser. The diplomatic vehicle had 152 bullet impact damage on it and the three men on the vehicle survived. One American was injured in the gunfire assault.

The Mexican naval officer traveling with the two Americans was able to call for backup and other Federal Police officers, including naval personal responded to the scene.

The Federal Police officers involved told investigators at the scene that they thought they were pursuing kidnappers. All the officers in the gunfire assault were dressed in civilian clothes and were driving unmarked personal vehicles. When they were ordered to report to a federal police and ministry government building for further investigation of the shooting, the 14 officers arrived in full Federal Police uniforms and drove their assigned squad cars.

Federal investigators say, by arriving in uniform and showing up with their squads drew a red flag and it was later determined that the accused were trying to obstruct the investigation. 

The 14 Federal Police officers were charged with three counts of attempted murder and damage to property, including giving false information and an administrative worker at the Tlalpan Federal Police station was charged with unauthorised use of weapon exclusively used by the military.

The officers charged are also accused of having ties to organized crime.

"Common Ground" Key To Comprehensive Immigration Reform In U.S.

Washington, D.C - On Thursday, John Boehner (R-OH) the U.S. House Speaker told ABC's Diane Sawyer during an interview, that resolving the issue of immigration reform has been long overdue and should be dealt with and that he is confident that a "common ground" could be reach with Democrats and President Barack H. Obama on comprehensive Immigration reform. But, House republicans continue to press for secure borders and to enforce immigration laws before passing any comprehensive immigration reform that would be deemed as an amnesty bill to more than 12 million of undocumented immigrants living in the U.S.

An estimated 10 percent of the total popular vote on Tuesday's election were Hispanic, which for the first time in history, the Latino voting power reached a double digit. At least 75 percent or 14 million of those Latinos voted for Obama. For a majority of Latinos that voted, immigration reform became an important issue, since most have relatives or know someone that is undocumented and residing in the country.

Immigration reform rallies were staged on Thursday by groups and organizations throughout the country and in front of the White House calling for immigration reform and for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, including the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to stop separating families.

Under the Obama administration, about 4 million undocumented immigrants have been deported, including U.S. Veterans who honorably served in various wars and conflicts. 

In 2011, ICE reported that 3,000 U.S. Veterans were facing deportation proceedings. Most of those undocumented immigrants deported by the Obama administration were for minor crimes.

U.S. Veterans that have been deported can only return as Americans upon death. The U.S. Government provides a plot and marker. Their VA benefits for injuries and other illnesses are automatically revoked once deported, thus violating Congressional laws passed to care for injured Veterans.

The first support house (safehouse) for deported U.S. Veterans was created in October at El Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico by deported Veterans. The U.S. Deported Veteran Support House continues to operate in a Tijuana suburb.

Those Veterans seeking support at the safehouse will be able to get spiritual advice, shelter, food, assistance in getting a local Mexican ID. They will also have access to a phone and Internet, but operation costs such as rent, utilities, including light, gas and Internet have made it difficult to operate without needed donations.

Dozens Of Latinos In Milwaukee Called For Immigration Reform And To Stop Separating Families

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, dozens of Hispanics held a rally in front of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) offices on E. Knapp St. in the downtown area. The rally was organized by Voces de la Frontera, an immigrant and workers right non-profit organization in conjunction with another organization called FIRM. FIRM members help organize rallies throughout the nation after President Barack H. Obama won reelection on Tuesday. 

Obama on his victory speech to the nation once again promised immigration reform. But any future immigration reform would have to be approved by the Republican controlled U.S. House of Representatives. Unless border security is first initiated (closed the outlining borders) and enforced to eliminate an influx of undocumented immigrants within the U.S. borders, Congress won't pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill.

Obama's reelection does secure the deferred action policy for millions of DREAMers for the next four years, which is already in affect.

Reward Offered For Information Leading To Arrests In Lopez Homicide

Milwaukee, WI - The Tropical Latino Club owner has offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect or suspects involved in last Sunday's beating death of Mariano J. Lopez, 45. Police are looking for multiple suspects in the Lopez homicide and brutal assault of Toby Villarreal, 37, from Greenfield after leaving the Tropical Latino bar. 

Lopez of Franklin was fatally assaulted at the 600 block of S. 5th St. A nearby  surveillance camera recorded the beating and possible suspects involved.

His friend Villarreal survived, but suffered three broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Lopez later died at a local hospital.

Both Lopez and Villarreal were jumped and beaten by a group of suspects shortly after stepping in to defuse an argument between his female cousin and a man inside the Tropical Latino. After Lopez left the bar around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, the suspects attacked Lopez and Villarreal outside the bar, according to police.

Villarreal says they were attacked from behind and doesn't recall anything after being assaulted.

Sahan Charged With OUI Leading To Friends Homicide

Waukesha, WI - Ihor M. Sahan, 18, of St. Francis was charged with OUI driving, including one felony count of vehicular homicide while intoxicated and two misdemeanor counts of causing injury by intoxicated used of a vehicle. Sahan on early November 1st was driving eastbound on I-94 in Brookfield when he crashed into a Waukesha County Sheriff's squad on the freeway. His friend, Ryan Petri, 17, died of massive brain trauma, according to the Waukesha County Medical Examiner. 

Petri apparently was not wearing his seat belt when Sahan crashed and rear ended the squad. Two deputies were also injured and both suffered injuries to their head, back and neck, but survived.

Sahan's vehicle burst into flames on impact. The deputies were able to remove both Sahan and Petri from the vehicle. Petri was unresponsive and was taken to a hospital where he died.

Sahan told authorities that he and Petri had attended a Madison concert and had drank vodka. He was taking Petri home when the crash took place.

Sahan's blood alcohol concentration was .135 percent, according to the criminal complaint. If convicted, Sahan is facing up to 15 years in prison. A $100,000 cash bond was set for Sahan.

Obama Re-elected U.S. President And Puerto Ricans Want Statehood

Washington, D.C. - On Tuesday, Democrat President Barack H. Obama, 51, was re-elected with 332 Electoral College Votes (ECV) defeating challenger former Republican Governor Mitt Romney, 61, who received 206 ECV ending his political career. The ObamaCare plan is sealed and Americans will embrace its benefits in the future.

Romney failed to attract a majority of the Hispanic and Afro-American vote in the U.S. His anti-immigrant rhetoric only drew minimal Hispanic support and voters. Obama received a majority of the 10% of the Hispanic vote making it the first time a double digit of the Hispanic electorate participated in the election.

The newly elected Latinos to the U.S. Congress were Tony Cardenas, Gloria Negrete McLeod, Dr. Raul Ruiz and Juan Vargas of California; Joaquin Castro, Pete Gallego and Filemon Vela of Texas; Joe Garcia of Florida and Michelle Luján Grisham of New Mexico.

In Wisconsin, Democrat Tammy Baldwin recieved 51% of the vote and defeated Republican challenger former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson who received 46% and ending his political career. Baldwin became the first woman and openly lesbian in Wisconsin to be elected to the U.S. Senate. She will take office on January 3.

Republicans took control once again of the Wisconsin state Senate with 17-15 and are expected to get another seat in several months. They also have control of the Assembly in Wisconsin.

Obama won Wisconsin with 53% of the vote and Romney received 46%. Ohio also went to Obama sealing Romney's fate early in the night after the polls closed. Romney won't seek another political seat, ending his political career.

Obama with 303 ECV also won the popular vote as well.

Democrats kept control of the U.S. Senate by 51, 2 Independent and 44 Republicans. 

Ted Cruz (R-TX) supported by the Tea Party was elected and became the first Cuban-American to be elected from Texas. Cruz joins two other Cuban-Americans, Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) in the U.S. Senate.

The U.S. House Republicans kept control with 238-197.

The Obama and Romney campaigns spent more than 700 million and in Wisconsin, the Baldwin and Thompson campaigns spent more than 65 million.

In Arizona, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, 80, easily won re-election for a six term with more than 53% of the vote. Arpaio, is a self proclaim immigration enforcement policy and law enforcer.

Also, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Bebeu, 43, (R) in Arizona won a second term with more than 53% of the vote. Bebeu was known to crack down on illegal immigration into the U.S. He was a candidate for the U.S. Congress, but dropped out abruptly after the Phoenix New Times exposed in February that he was gay and had a falling out with an undocumented immigrant former boyfriend from Mexico who he accused of tampering with his congressional election campaign computers.

Both Colorado and Washington voters approved recreational use of marijuana challenging federal laws.

In Puerto Rico, a two part non binding referendum asking if voters wanted change or status quo and 54% of Puerto Rican voted for change while 46% wanted to remain as status quo. About 61% of Puerto Ricans voted for statehood, while 33% voted for a Sovereign free association and 5% voted for independence.

The U.S. Congress would have to approve statehood for Puerto Rico making it the 51st state.
