28-year-old Basilio A. Garcia-Jarquin Extradited To Wisconsin On A 2023 Hit-and-run Homicide Charge, Was Arrested In Chicago

Garcia-Jarquin fled from Milwaukee after killing a victim in a hit-and-run crash on News Year's Eve in 2023.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On May 2, Basilio A. Garcia-Jarquin, 28, was booked at the Milwaukee County jail for homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, knownly operate a vehicle without a license and injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

If convicted, Garcia-Jarquin is facing up to 25 years in prison and up to $100,000 in fines, or both for homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle; facing up to 6 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines, or both for driving without a license, and up to 12 years and 5 months in prison and up to $25,000 in fines, or both for injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Garcia-Jarquin was wanted for a hit-and-run crash homicide on New Year's Eve in 2023 in Milwaukee.

Garcia-Jarquin was taken into custody in Chicago by the Cook County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service at the 4100 block of W. 25 Place, according to authorities.
